What's New?
Because Easter is early — and because we're making a long-overdue, 3-week trip to the Netherlands to see Jan's family from April 17 to May 7, 2012 — the Blue Tulip Garden Boutique will not open this year until Memorial Day weekend. Even so, spring will be as busy as ever as we search for new Maine craft vendors, select merchandise and spruce up the shop for our fourth season serving Mid-Coast Maine.
Here's just a sampling of some new things we'll be offering when we open on Saturday, May 26:
- Heirloom Gardens of Maine (Montville, ME)
Annuals, perennials, hanging baskets filled with herbs, cherry tomatoes, spring flowers. All grown by mother/daughter team on their 200-year old farm. - Safe Harbor Confections (Waldoboro, ME)
Milk, dark and white filled and formed chocolates made nearby in Waldoboro. (Owners donate 5% of their gross income to animal welfare groups.) - Hoist Away Bags (York, ME)
One-of-a-kind bags in several sizes, including wristlets, made from authentic reclaimed sailboat sails. (Owner donates a percentage of each sale to local "Learn to Sail" programs.) - Skeeter Skidaddler (Windham, ME)
A fragrant and very effective insect repellent made by Gentle Breeze Farm from a blend of 100% natural Maine-grown oils. Field-tested by hikers, gardeners, vacationers and explorers...it works! - Garden Guardians (South Portland, ME)
Locally-made, reasonably-priced, handcrafted garden critters and planters made with Portland cement, vermiculite and masonry sand. Hand-carved detail.
We look forward to seeing you in 2012!
